Each year, iFuel AG ramps up the volumes of SAF fuel accessible to its global clientele and endeavours to expand its network of direct suppliers. «Clean fuel is the cornerstone of the future of air travel, and the company's mission is to ensure that SAF is accessible and competitive for all market participants», - Rinad El-Rabaa emphasizes.

This strategy is supported by iFuel AG's extensive industry experience, established relationships with key players, and sterling reputation, enabling the company to effectively implement its mission and drive positive change in the aviation industry.

Globally, aviation contributes to 2% of human-caused carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and 12% of all transportation-related CO2 emissions. To address this, ICAO's Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) aims to cap net CO2 aviation emissions at 2020 levels until 2035. Moreover, the international aviation sector has set an ambitious target to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

«iFuel AG is working to make these goals a reality and for this, it is important to develop both sustainable demand and large-scale production, which will reduce the cost of fuel and for this as a result, the price of SAF for end consumers»,- says Mr El-Rabaa.

This approach not only fosters market growth but also reinforces the accessibility and affordability of SAF, aligning with the company's commitment to advancing sustainability in the aviation sector.

Today, the potential for this is within reach. SAF stands as a direct substitute for traditional jet fuel, presenting a spectrum of products sourced from various feedstocks and production methods. Crucially, compared to conventional jet fuel, the utilization of 100% SAF holds the promise of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 94%, with variations depending on the feedstock and technology employed.

Note: Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), derived from non-petroleum sources, serves as an environmentally friendly alternative in reducing emissions from air travel. It can be blended at varying levels, ranging from 10% to 50%, depending on the feedstock utilized and the production process. As reported by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), over 360,000 commercial flights have already utilized SAF, predominantly across >70 airports in the United States and Europe.
